Natural stone and a fire pit kit, a match made in design heaven 😍#firepit #patio #outdoordesign

What happens here

The final stage of the project involves bringing all the aesthetic and functional elements together to complete the outdoor living space. The temporary plywood frame installed in Step 1 has been transformed into a beautiful, permanent stacked stone veneer feature wall, providing an elegant backdrop to the fire pit. The area immediately surrounding the fire pit is meticulously paved with interlocking pavers, creating a durable and attractive patio surface. Inside the newly constructed stone fire pit, a gas line and burner assembly are installed (though not explicitly shown, it is implied by the presence of flames). This assembly is then covered with a layer of dark, heat-resistant lava rocks, which serve to diffuse the flames and provide an authentic look. Finally, the gas is turned on, and the fire pit is ignited, showcasing the warm, dancing flames and creating an inviting atmosphere for outdoor relaxation and entertainment.

Goal: Complete the aesthetic elements of the outdoor space and make the fire pit fully operational.

Tools and materials

  • Broom — Sweeping jointing sand into the paver gaps
  • Gas Line and Burner Assembly — Creating the flame for the fire pit. Includes burner pan, burner ring, and necessary fittings
  • Lava Rocks — Covering the gas burner assembly and providing a decorative, heat-resistant media for the fire pit
  • Pavers — Creating the patio surface around the fire pit
  • Plate Compactor — Compacting the paver base and the pavers themselves after installation
  • Rubber Mallet — Tapping pavers into place and ensuring a level surface without damaging them
  • Stacked Stone Veneer — Finishing the feature wall behind the fire pit
  • Jointing Sand — Filling the gaps between pavers to lock them in place and inhibit weed growth
