Moving from framing in to the more detail work, first up SOFFIT!

What happens here

This extensive step covers the installation of the soffit system beneath the eaves. It begins with the fastening of a J-channel (or F-channel) along the interior edge of the eaves, which serves as a track and receiver for the soffit panels. Subsequently, individual soffit panels, typically made of vinyl or aluminum and often perforated for attic ventilation, are cut to the appropriate length. Workers are then seen sliding these panels into the J-channel on one side and securing the opposite side to the sub-fascia or blocking using a hammer and nails. The panels are designed to overlap, creating a continuous and finished surface that protects the underside of the eaves while allowing for airflow. The video shows multiple instances of workers performing this task.

Goal: Cover the underside of the eaves with soffit panels for protection and aesthetics.
