What happens here

As the paver approaches its final resting spot, the ground worker precisely guides it into position, ensuring perfect alignment with adjacent pavers and maintaining consistent joint spacing. Once the paver is accurately placed and gently settled onto the gravel base, the worker operates the red handle on the vacuum lifter to release the suction, detaching the paver. The vacuum lifter is then carefully raised and moved away from the newly laid paver, completing one installation cycle. This process is quickly repeated for subsequent pavers, showcasing the rapid and efficient nature of this mechanized laying method.

Goal: Accurately set the paver, release the vacuum, and prepare for the next installation.

Tools and materials

  • Large Format Concrete Pavers β€” The material being placed
  • Mini-Excavator CAT β€” Operating the lifter and moving it
  • Plate Compactor β€” Compacting the newly laid pavers into the gravel base for stability
  • Protective Mat for Compactor β€” Preventing scuffs or damage to paver surfaces when using a plate compactor
  • Rubber Mallet β€” Making minor adjustments to paver alignment after initial placement
  • Vacuum Paver Lifter Attachment β€” Releasing the paver after placement
