What happens here

As sections of the herringbone pattern are laid, a long spirit level is utilized to check for an even and consistent surface. This is a critical step to ensure proper drainage and prevent trip hazards. Any pavers that are too high or unevenly set are gently tapped down into the bedding layer using a rubber mallet until they are flush with the surrounding pavers and the desired level is achieved.

Goal: Ensure the laid pavers are level and properly settled.
