Apply First Coat of Spackle

process we do is this spackling process we don't use bondo first because bondo shrinks a lot more than spackle bono's gonna be that ultra fine finish in the end that you'll never see it spackling will sand out a little bit and leave and leave a little bit concave so you feel those little volcanoes you can feel them so you got those all scraped off so we're going to start the process off you want some good clean spackling and this spatula is a little bit old but just get some good clean spackling make sure it's nice fresh and soft and then we'll just begin spackling our nail heads like that you're just gonna put a little bit of spackle on there and just scrape it flat the more space when you leave the more you're gonna have to sand so what you don't wanna do is have a big old glob of spackle like that because you're going to have to sand a lot more this crawford spackling sands are really easy but it's good to bake it nice and flat so you can go ahead or gabriel and finish [Music] spackling those so just use i like a really flexible knife that just bends and just makes sure that knife edge is nice and sharp the five-in-one tools the the edges are a little bit duller and a lot of times we're using them for all kinds of things like scraping and stuff like that so they don't have a nice flat edge you want a really nice flat head so get yourself and i like like the inch and a half spackle knife i don't like anything whiter than that so you'll spackle all your nail heads and then that stuff is going to dry really really fast like crawford spaffle by the time you work your way around the house if you're only doing this one window like this window right here that we're doing you're going to have to give it a little bit of time to dry and then we're just going to sand it with a sanding sponge and we use a medium sanding sponge and then we're going to do the bondoing process so you want to scrape that we got nails inside there so when you're dealing with those volcanoes if you got if you're you'll run in you forgot to scrape these right here just make sure all your spackling is off off your knife because you don't want any of the you know chips and wood chips and mixed in with your spatula
