MASKING the Exterior of a House With The Idaho Painter

What happens here

The video begins with an introduction to the project, which is exterior house painting, and the concept of 'layering' the painting process. The presenter explains that he prioritizes painting areas like gables and main doors first because they are accent colors and require masking on adjacent surfaces later. This allows them to dry thoroughly before masking tape is applied. He highlights the importance of having surfaces dry for effective masking. The presenter shows various painting equipment like a paint sprayer, several buckets, hoses, and paint cans, set up on the lawn.

Goal: Understand the strategic order of painting and masking tasks.

Tools and materials

  • Paint Cans — Storing paint
  • Paint Hoses — Connecting the paint sprayer to the paint gun
