Makita FAIL! Watch Tile Drilling Battery Problems! #shorts
What happens here
With the tile prepped and wet, take your chosen cordless drill, fitted with a diamond-tipped (or similar specialized) drill bit. Start drilling by holding the drill at an acute angle, typically 30 to 45 degrees, against the tile surface. Gently engage the bit to create a small, crescent-shaped notch or groove. This angled start is crucial to prevent the drill bit from "walking" or slipping across the smooth, hard tile surface, ensuring a precise starting point. Once a stable groove is formed, slowly and carefully pivot the drill upwards until it is perpendicular (90 degrees) to the tile surface. Maintain steady, consistent pressure and a moderate drill speed. Continue to apply water intermittently to the drilling area to keep the bit and tile cool and to clear debris.
Goal: Begin and execute the drilling process effectively without damaging the tile or bit.
Tools and materials
- Cordless drill Makita — Driving the drill bit to create the hole
- Specialized drill bit — Cutting through the hard tile material
- Water spray bottle — Re-applying water as needed during drilling
- Water — Continued cooling and lubrication
