so the thought process behind putting manure versus chemical fertilizer on our trees is that the manure will release its nutrients for a longer amount of time nice and slow the rainy season is coming here we're in January so we should be getting lots of rain here for the next couple of months here in North Carolina the foothills of the Blue Ridge so the biggest thing is that we're providing nutrition for our trees root system and in the spring when they take off they should flower vigorously and we get some vigorous growth out of these trees this is year number two on these trees I started getting a little bit of fruit last year but this year I should be getting much more fruit you'll notice that there is a fence all the way around this place and I'll do another video on the fence you can see it right here once I get it posted probably take this fence down this year and build a bigger fence encompassing the whole yard because we'll be planting blueberries blackberries raspberries and several other types of berries later on so the good thing about having a farm is you got your gym built-in shoveling this manure I'm already breaking a sweat and getting a little out of breath it's a good time so hopefully we get some good delicious screw down here we'll use any sprays on our fruit this year we won't use any chemical fertilizers and we'll have some delicious fruit for the family when you're when you're planting apple trees and pear trees it's important if you're doing a like a family orchard like this let you buy trees that will produce at different times of the year so different apples mature earlier some but or in June July August September October and on into November so it's good practice to think about the trees that you're planting don't just go to Lowe's and pick out a tree actually do some research before you do it we've got a local apple tree grower here that has just a vast variety of knowledge we'll try to do a video with him someday he's probably 45 minutes away but man that guy's a fountain of knowledge when it comes to planting orchards and apple trees so that's it this is Josh Stoney Ridge farmer getting my workout in here shoveling manure done in my apple trees and my peach trees and my pear trees thanks for watching subscribe to the channel I appreciate you
