Repair Patched Holes and Textured Areas

mark. I just need a little bit of paint on the end of my brush here. I'm going to touch it up just like this. If you apply a big layer of paint in your brushstroke, you'll have thick edges, and those edges will look really bad. So again, it's a dry brush, just a little bit of paint there. So we don't have a lot of gloss buildup. Okay, so I have an area here. We have a hole that was plugged in the wall, and one of the things I see inexperienced people do is plug a hole, take a flexible knife, and just run a bit of filler through it. The filler will end up filling in the texture around the hole, and then you'll end up with a nice flat spot. What you should normally do is take a bit of filler, fill it in with your finger, and then clean up the excess from around the texture so the texture doesn't get filled in. Now, once it's dry, I'm going to take my brush, just a little bit of paint on the end of my brush, and all I'm going to do is dab it over this area here and touch it up. So I don't want to take it and put a big brushstroke here; I'm just going to dab it outwards, like this. This is it. What we would call dry blending around that point. Now that point is all touched up here. I'm going to let it dry really well. We have another mark here. We have a little dent in a corner, a slightly different color in this corner here. So we don't want to get paint in the corner. We have a great, good texture here. You could take something like a scraper, a buffing knife, or a double-edged knife. And you can easily just scrape that down and flatten it. And now I'm going to touch up all around that place. So we get rid of that. So I'm just going to smear my brush there, make it nice and dry, and I'm just going to smear around that. All this. Here there was a chair or something [Music] like that, and then this corner. Here I'm just going to take the corner of my brush and just smear right in the corner. And there was some paint chipped off because it was kind of like a chip, and if you just scrape your brush there, that's going to fill it in really well. Now I'm going to smear out right here, and you can just feather dry if needed. Right here I feathered Alo, dry and everything's
