Manually Clear All Salt from Spreader Hopper
At 0:05 in
leave it in the hopper, you’re going to have a not so fun time with a pickax
What happens here
To execute the salt removal, position the salt spreader, typically mounted on a truck bed, directly over a suitable bulk salt storage area or a designated container. Use a long-handled tool, such as a specialized rake, shovel, or poking device, to reach into the spreader's hopper. Actively poke, push, and dislodge any road salt that has settled or become slightly compacted. Focus on clearing salt from the internal walls, corners, and particularly around the auger mechanism to ensure all material is guided towards and exits the spreader's discharge opening. Continue this manual agitation until the hopper is visibly empty of loose salt.
Goal: Achieve a completely empty salt spreader hopper to prevent solidification
