Drain Condensate from Air Tank
At 0:10 in
Learn how to build an air compressor for a fraction of the cost. Compressor build goes live 2nite
What happens here
After the compressor has stopped, locate the drain valve, typically a petcock or ball valve, at the very bottom of the air tank. Slowly open this valve to release any accumulated condensate. The video briefly shows a yellowish, watery substance (condensate, a mix of water and compressor oil) being expelled from the drain valve. Allow the tank to drain until only air comes out, or until the flow of liquid stops. Once drained, securely close the valve to prevent air leaks. The compressor may then cycle back on to repressurize the tank, as heard at the end of the video.
Goal: Remove accumulated moisture and oil from the air compressor tank
