Lawn and Yard Care Tips - Aeration, DeThaching, Overseeding for a Gorgeous DIY lawn
What happens here
The video concludes by providing recommended schedules for each method. Dethatching should be done at most once a year, or once every other year if thatch buildup is severe. Traditional core aeration (plug pulling) is recommended a maximum of twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. In contrast, core aeravation (soil fractionation) can be performed as often as once a week or even more frequently, at any time of the year, without detrimental side effects, because it is non-invasive and constantly loosens the soil while keeping the grass on top. The process also allows for optional overseeding at the same time, as seeds fall directly into the loosened soil. This method is even used on golf courses and universities to protect their turf from compaction.
Goal: Outline optimal usage schedules for each method and emphasize core aeravation's flexibility.
