Water and Settle Joint Sand
At 0:08 in
Its like icing a cake, the last and most satisfying step!
What happens here
Once the dry sand is meticulously swept into the paver joints, use a garden hose equipped with a spray nozzle set to a gentle shower or mist. Systematically wet the entire paver surface. Apply the water carefully, ensuring not to use a strong jet, as this can wash the sand out of the joints. Continue to apply water evenly until the sand within the joints is thoroughly saturated and appears to be settling. You might observe some bubbling as trapped air escapes from the joints. Allow the water to penetrate and consolidate the sand for a few minutes, then re-wet the area as needed to ensure deep compaction and, if using polymeric sand, proper activation of its binding properties.
Goal: Compact and activate sand in paver joints
