Its a shame all this is getting covered up!

What happens here

The first step involves preparing the ground and placing the rebar. Initially, a metal rod is used to probe the ground, likely to check soil consistency or clear any obstructions. Then, pre-bent lengths of rebar are laid into the prepared trench or wooden forms. These rebar pieces are positioned to provide structural integrity to the concrete footing. The rebar is then secured together at intersections using tie wire and a rebar tying tool, which can be either manual or an automated tool shown briefly, to ensure the rebar cage remains stable during the concrete pour.

Goal: Install and secure rebar reinforcement in the footing forms

Tools and materials

  • Metal Rod/Probe — Probing the ground for obstructions or soil consistency
  • Rebar Bending Tool — Bending rebar into the required shapes for the footing
  • Rebar Tying Tool — Automatically twisting tie wire for faster rebar securement
  • Safety Gloves — Protecting hands from sharp rebar edges and concrete
  • Rebar — Reinforcing the concrete footing
  • Tie Wire — Securing rebar intersections
