To prevent paint spray from coating areas you wish to remain unpainted, such as windows, door hinges, trim (if painting a different color), and surrounding landscaping, apply painter's tape and plastic sheeting or drop cloths. Securely attach plastic sheeting to cover windows and doors completely. Use drop cloths or tarps to protect the ground, plants, and any adjacent structures. While the video focuses solely on the spraying action, adequate masking is a vital preliminary step for a clean, professional result.
