What happens here

Discuss the early days of team formation, before the current building was constructed. Learn that the team initially rented a shop from Norman Negre, where they assembled cars before moving into their dedicated facility. This highlights the foundational period of the race team and the role of temporary setups.

Goal: Gain insight into the race team's initial operational phase before their permanent facility.

team for Bobby, you know. Uh we were by Norman Agrees, rented a shop out by Norman Agrees where we started putting all the cars together. Oh, okay. Building them up there first, you know, before this place was built. And he went that was his office door. Yeah, the office is the only thing the same really. Oh, that definitely looks like I was hoping there would be paneling in here. Yeah, it is. I mean, his race cars are built out there. They use the 50 by 100 to build a their new team in. Huh. The 12 car uh Ray Bestus, I think it was. I was wondering about that. He did show us that part of the building, but I wondered what was going on between 88 and 90 cuz I thought in my head that 90 was the first year for this team. probably was first year for here, but the team was put together anyway up in uh Marman's shop up there. So, we rented a spot from him and Bill Cars and worked out of there for I think about a year and then uh while this place was going out. Yeah, I was actually here three months at Norman's before I saw my first race car because I came down to start building the equipment, tables, steel racks, and stuff like that. And then when the first race car showed up, I says to Jimmy, I says, "Well, where's the body?" You know, like the ESA cars, you know, it's well, you got to make that. It's like, what did I get into?
