What happens here

Connect the main low-voltage wiring running from your LED lights to a suitable landscape lighting transformer. Ensure the transformer's wattage capacity is sufficient for the total wattage of all connected lights. Then, plug the transformer into a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protected outdoor electrical outlet. This is a critical safety measure, especially for lighting near a pool. Follow all manufacturer's instructions for the transformer and local electrical codes.

Goal: Supply safe low-voltage power to the newly installed LED lights

Tools and materials

  • GFCI-Protected Outdoor Electrical Outlet — Providing a safe power source with ground fault protection
  • Landscape Lighting Transformer — Converting household voltage to low voltage for the LED lights
  • Low-Voltage Landscape Wire — Connecting lights to the transformer
