First Pass Compaction

What happens here

After sweeping the polymeric sand into the joints, use a plate compactor (referred to as a "sand vibrator" in the video) to vibrate the pavers. Slowly guide the compactor over the entire paved area. The vibration will cause the sand to settle deep into the paver joints, preventing it from getting trapped at the surface. The specific model shown appears to be a Wacker Neuson VPR 450. Ensure a thin layer of sand remains on top of the pavers during compaction to protect them from scratching.

Goal: Settle polymeric sand to the bottom of paver joints.
