If Heaven has Lawn Mowers....I Want this one!

[Music] hey there folks this is Josh Tony rich farmer welcome back to the farm it's another beautiful sunny day here in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and we don't get many days like this it's nice so we got a new guy here on the farm you recognize him this is the second time Rob has been out here rob is a factory rep from ventrac so ventrac tractors has taken notice to our videos and we have the factory rep out here and ventrac volunteered to give us a tool to help out some neighbors it's called the power rake and to demo something that's not even on the market yet so come along today here on the farm blog as we check out a new monster mowing deck that ventrac has to offer and we'll show you the power rake that we're going to use to help out some of our neighbors who are on a fixed income who have gravel driveways that need repair so Rob you're the factory rep for the southeastern United States is that right right basically Virginia's in Carolinas okay so the Virginia's in Carolinas that's why is here in North Carolina we're smack dab in the middle of your service area so Rob is driving through our area all the time on his way to somewhere different now Rob's job at ventrac is basically the factory rep for this area you help out the dealers you help out end users you help out everybody with ventrac tractors and you demo new stuff new stuff and show it to the dealers right yeah cool we are blessed to have Rob here they wanted to test out this new mowing deck here on the Stoney Ridge farm because it's like this so this is an eight-foot mowing deck we're going to get you up here and show you a little bit more about it in just a second tell me about this power rake back here that we're gonna use oh this power rake is something else it's just absolutely amazing what you can do with this unit that's only 54 inches wide gosh it's like a bulldozer in miniature gotcha and the power rake has like diamond tip tines or about a carbide tip yeah it spins constantly and has a hydraulic filter on it we're gonna take you over here and show it to you and let Robb kind of describe exactly what it does because he knows everything about ventrac he lives sleeps and breathes ventrac if you'll notice this VIN track is a 4500 Z ours is a 4500 Y now what's the difference in a Z and a wife the Z is a Kubota three cylinder gas engine the Y is a three cylinder diesel so the three cylinder diesel only runs on diesel fuel the Z will run on propane or gas and it's 32 horsepower three and a half horse 32 and vs. 25 gotcha not 32 and a half horse is because the tr4 emissions is that this engine is tear for emissions compliant gotcha and the diesel basically is exempt because of its lower horsepower rate we opted for the diesel engine and our ventrac just because we wanted fuel consistency here on the farm and that's a pretty common thing I did right but a guy that has a lawn care business or municipality like a city or something like that could go either way because I've got gas pumps and diesel part and this type of machine would be awesome with this new deck to mow like soccer fields and baseball fields and stuff like that is that your target with this that was our primary target we're just curious how many more targets may show up yeah the anti scalping capacity of this mower deck has amazed me almost two weeks awesome so ventrac has a test facility in ohio these tractors are handmade hand-built tractors in Orrville Ohio and ventrac has a test facility up there you were telling me right and everybody else was scared to take that big old mower overtop of the big old hump and you said man I'm going straight for it right and to my surprise it didn't scalp it nice nice Rob's a good old southern boy he's gonna try something out if there's a mud hole somewhere Rob's gonna get in it we didn't know if it's gonna work that's it you don't have perfect conditions everywhere no doubt well take me back and we'll talk about this power rake real quick and then we'll show the awesome gigantic monster mowing deck 8 foot mowing deck this is the ventrac power rake AP 540 model it is driven by the front pto of the tractor and as you can see we just drive into the front hitch like we do with all our other attachments there's a hydraulic pump and that's what makes this thing work the nice thing about the power rake is you can run it in the forward direction or the reverse direction so that means that you can make full use of every pass and if you need a perfectly smooth seat bed or gravel road make your last pass backing up and you'll have to see road wheel tracks it is just absolutely amazing at cutting grading and smoothing so here we're looking at the 4500 Z and Rob is going to tell us all about this new prototype deck now I'm calling this the monster mower but what's the real name for it I believe it's an NK 960 model NK 960 it's an eight-foot mowing deck which is something that's quite uncommon in the commercial mowing industry because it's so big it's liable to scalp but you have anti scalping wheels on the front underneath and a roller in the back flow rear roller and there are even anti scalp wheels under the deck which is the first time I've seen that design awesome awesome so maybe we'll be able to raise the deck up by the end of the video but we're gonna test this thing out and we're gonna also unload that machine back there so that we'll have it here on the farm how long we're gonna get to keep that a couple weeks a couple of weeks I'll be enough time to do the driveway I think so yeah good stuff guys let's get this thing off the trailer Josh this tractor the 4500 Z is a little different from your 4500 Y model for differences I can think of right off the top of my head this foot pedal down here is a nice option that allows you to go farther in Reverse by using your your heel and toe or your traditional SDL a lever you'll notice there are extra hydraulic connectors up here that's called dual front hydraulics and that's to allow me to operate a blue mower or a grapple and you don't have this because it's a choke for the gasoline Kubota engine the other difference would be these controls right here and they control the three-point hitch here in the back guys rob is a nut okay just so you know he works sales for ventrac and you just have to have a personality and he's just got an awesome awesome person out he's gonna mow my yard for me now check it out I think that they can push that down there right down the hill we think about letting me take it for a drive you can take it anywhere you want till it runs out of gas I just can't keep it dang man that thing would really cut down on the mowing time you can see it did a good job in the pasture and the high grass as well as in the short grass so we're going to set the seat belt here this is me and Rob are about the same girth so that's that's kind of wait a minute that's Andy isn't it Rob's a little bit skinnier at night man no more Mickey D's for me let's fire this thing up I've never driven a gas-powered ventrac mower so it's a little bit different but uh get one time and push it in soon as it fires okay and that thing is a monster holy cow I can't even imagine being I want to mow my yard in like eight minutes it's awesome so cool man thanks for letting me try this thing oh you're so welcome thanks for getting on it yeah well Rob I can't say how awesome it is to be able to check out new products from a tractor company like ventrac man it's just super awesome I also can't say thank you enough for letting me use this power rake to help out some neighbors that's really really cool good of you and good of ventrac now if you can just work a little bit of your sales into the guys at ventrac to give me a good deal on the tractor that we have leased because I don't know how you can't once you've got a ventrac man you cannot live without it it's just like heaven it's like the multi-tool of tractors man and it's just so simple and easy to disconnect and reconnect all these different implements we're gonna hook my vent rack up to the power rake we're gonna load it
