What happens here

This section illustrates a challenging landscaping project: building a dry creek bed over a septic field. Due to the sensitive nature of septic systems, heavy machinery cannot be used as ground compaction would damage the field and potentially lead to costly repairs. The power-assisted wheelbarrow becomes indispensable here, allowing workers to transport numerous loads of rocks and boulders up a steep incline to create the creek bed without damaging the underlying septic lines. This highlights the wheelbarrow's unique advantage in situations requiring delicate material placement and access to difficult terrains where traditional heavy equipment is unsuitable.

Goal: To build a dry creek bed over a septic system, utilizing the power-assisted wheelbarrow to move heavy materials where heavy equipment is prohibited.

Tools and materials

  • Rake — Spreading and shaping the mulch and ground for the creek bed
  • Shovel — Handling and placing rocks
  • Landscape Fabric — Underlayment for the dry creek bed
  • Mulch — Ground cover in the surrounding landscape
  • Rocks/Boulders N/A — Creating the dry creek bed

period. Best wheelbarrow, period. So, I got a question for you, Blaine. Could you have wheelbarrowed that up by yourself [music] with no power? No. [laughter] Nope. No. That helped a Yeah, this is a this is a pretty steep hill, too. It's still work, but it's a lot easier. Yeah, I [laughter] followed up five times up this hill, but without it, I would have never I never went up the hill. Forget it. And we got problem is we got a septic. Show you guys exactly what our problem is. Yeah, we got the equipment. You can see it all parked right where we can't go because this is all septic lines, all septic fields. And you can't cross this with heavy equipment because any ground compaction destroys the septic system. So it's light stuff. Even wheelbarls, it's light stuff. So once we get up in here, it's a game changer. So you got to have something that can uh still move materials just in a different way. So these guys want us to do a concrete test, but instead of concrete, we're hauling boulders and rocks. And typically what we would do is um use a skid loader or an excavator to bring the material all the way down to the bottom, but we can't because of the septic system. So we got some handy that go along with this project.
