I rented a Monster Loader

boys this is the biggest baddest loader that I've ever put my Ms on but wait it gets better it's telling me I got to buckle up for my own safety I don't think I've ever had a quick coupler on a machine this big that fast that easy it's even easier than my Bobcat skid loaders where I'm fighting with the the handles half of the time I'm like come on Go baby go all right guys I'm at Universal truck service in Roseville Minnesota and I'm going to be renting a monster we've got Mike and Samantha here Mike how are you morning good how are you and Samantha all right guys um take me through the shop and I want to tell these guys what we've got cooking here cuz the machine I had a chance to take a sneak peek at this machine and boys this is the biggest baddest loader that I've ever put my mitts on for winter snow PL following yet and this is how they treat their employees hi guys how are you good so what do you guys do at this shop Mike heavy truck repair well we've been in the truck repair business for 25 years with with universal truck service we're a third generation family company all right guys I'm going to jump in here because what I learned is universal truck service out of Roseville has a full service center operating 24 hours and day 7 days a week but that's not why I came to them they're also a Hyundai dealer and yes I am getting a very big loader and you guys are going to call me out and say you always said bigger is not better dirt monkey well when it comes to Pure plowing I've learned to be able to manage to get by with the smaller loaders less money less expense but we've got accounts now that require us to load trucks and haul snow so everything that we plow we've got to put into the back of a truck and haul away and that's where a bigger load with a bigger bucket definitely has a bigger Advantage so let's go check out the Beast that I'm going to be renting this winter right now so that's the unit right there right Samantha yes sir I see you got snow tires on it is that something that you'd recommend putting on these loaders absolutely especially going into the snow season I would say it's just a definitely a perk um so this is going to be your Hyundai HL 940 axt so this the a the XT is for extended reach you're going to have about an operating weight about 30560 lb and then your bucket is going to have a capacity of three yards so now my understanding is is Hyundai hyand I'm going to mispronounce that more than once okay has two boom configurations correct so there's let's just take a look at it let's let's try to explain this to the guys cuz one of them is going to be better uh for snow plowing and one of them is going to be better for eggs agricultural okay okay so tell me about it so we have two variations so there's going to be the N9 this is going to be our smaller model of it this is the HL 930 ATM which stands for Tool Master as you can see the difference the main thing is going to have the two cylinders going down the very front so this is going to give you a bit better visibility and that's what our egg guys usually like to see just to make sure that you know nothing's going to come in their way from so instead of hitting cows and pig yes they've got better visibility with the Dual boom system but this one's going to reach higher further and break out force and more breakout Force correct so with the 940 specifically that you're looking at that one's going to have a breakout Force about 26,300 lb and then this one's going to be a little bit smaller than that but it's going to still have better breakout fors than your dual cylinder both still very powerful machines though what what's the weight rating on these machines so these two the 930s range from 25,500 to 25,700 what is the sweet spot for snow plowing that you guys have found I would say The Sweet Spot it all depends on what you're plowing I guess and how large your lots are going to be we have guys that want to have the 930 just cuz they're going to be smaller Lots but we also have guys that have those huge gigantic parking lots and that's why they want to do the 940 just to pick up as much as they can so now off camera Mike you were telling me that you've been a Hyundai dealer for a while now and you haven't had any warranty claims on the new Hyundai loaders now some of the old ones from the 80s and stuff that's that's a different story we signed with hyai in 2021 uhh and as the equipment comes in we do we do a thorough PDI inspection and we hadn't found a a failed defect from the manufacturer for the first two years we receiving equipment okay but wait it get better I was looking at how you maintain this Hyundai equipment oh the the auto grease system and and the oil change features are incredible all right can you walk me through that absolutely so so this unit is equipped with an auto Greaser it it is it is an option we're specting the majority of our machines with the auto Greaser now okay so here's the auto Greaser right here it is so this is about a $112,000 bump on right it it is okay it covers all all the Loop points with the exception of your two bottom bucket pins and the drive shaft and now it's automatic when it's when we say an auto Greaser it's not like you activate it it automatically determines when the machine needs grease and correct so you don't do anything exactly you set it in bucket that's it set it forget it and it just it gives you the the assurance that your team doesn't have to go out and Lube this machine when it's 30 below it gives you the assurance that the maintenance is being done on cycle okay let's show them how you access the maintenance this is this is crazy from a technical standpoint from a technician standpoint um the 940 Hood raises all the way up so this is equipped with a full Fender kit okay so now that's an option though I want to talk about that this back swing out is an option okay here in the north we spec everything with full fenders it just it tends to make the most sense little switch to raise the cab and you have easy access to to do a pre-trip on the engine do a general overview or component component access and the service it's a little handle here the spender drops down does have it does have a a little cable that prevents it from hitting the tire but if you need more access you can lower that down fuel filter access easy access to any connections on the starter and alternator those can be kind of two two mechanical wear points on any engine this is your fuel diesel fuel fill now you don't need to pop that open to do it they've got a side panel door to allow you access to your fuel right yeah for for both on-site fueling the door opens the fuel access is there okay I love the fact the fuel's on one side the death's on the other smart no mistakes yeah I mean not that your guys would make that mistake but I had made the mistake had an operator working for me for years and I just made the mistake of saying hey go gas up the skid loader so you know what he did of course like oh my gosh you put gas in my loader why'd you do that well because I said so so I blame myself for it it it happens I quick oil oil level check and oil fill and and our filters are right here so so real easy access all all service components one feature I like on this machine from a fluid chain standpoint there's a manifold tucked up here that's it right there and you can drain your fluid into a 5 gallon bucket there there's no need for for an evacuation system on these fluids it's a simple simple machine to service that is 154 horse C 6.7 engine now do all Hyundai loaders run cets they we do yeah we go we go Domin on the on the 930 to a little bit smaller smaller in but I mean Cummins is the standard it okay it is okay and our de F fill is over here now um so you got access to that so it is on the opposite side so you're not going to be confusing that now this machine is both a manual and an automatic it is yeah so depending on how your operators like to have it set up and there's also now Hyundai has a joystick operation so they can you can eliminate the steering wheel entirely if guys want to have that option correct yes a dual joystick control or a single joystick control okay the single joystick control is real Handy for snow removal as you're approaching a pile you can kick down with with a with with the button you don't need to reach in and shift M and and it seems to the majority of people like that would be a minor convenience but when you're in that chair for 16 hours and you've been and been out there on your third snowfall this week a little bit of extra comfort and and not having to reach forward if if you're a bigger person mhm it comes in real handy so let's hop up into the cab cuz I want to show these guys how hard it is to remove that bucket okay cuz that's a real challenge so one of the things before we hop up into the cab Mike you were saying the center pin has a lifetime warant lifetime warranty for the entire time you own the machine and that's that center pin right there that's your it's your main Flex point and we're talking about this pin right here that's correct the one that gets worked the most that's the that's the one that takes the beating how can they do that so Hyundai actually has the standard warranty is going to be full machine will be 3 years uh 3,000 hours okay they also have a structural warranty as well which is 5 years and 10,000 hours so they really stand by their product and they I think that's just the hondai brand they want to make sure you guys are taking care of in all right Mike what are we looking at in here now this is this is the redesigned cab on a 940 hyai wheel loader so redesigned we've got you know you got your standard steering wheel in this model which is going to be the ability pretty soon to have two joysticks correct correct uh we've got our shifter here but you've also got the optional joystick shifter right on the throttle right I'm going to start it up is are we clear absolutely okay so now we've got our monitoring system right here yeah touchscreen 7in monitor and then we have we have our cor camera Halo system with with rear facing radar it allows you to see your entire perimeter I it's telling me I got to buckle up for my own safety so you can actually see Samantha walking around when you're in tight areas shopping markets and there's people pulling in kids running around the parking lot and you're still trying to do your job this is and and very you know possibly fatigued operator this is incredibly handy to have it's just giving you that extra protection and you can toggle through and have whatever Viewpoint you want you've got a top down yes here so you got that Halo system right there you got your side views and then you've got your for for point right there here's your main control panel for your operator right here yeah and this machine is as simple or as detailed as as you'd like it to be it's as simple as releasing the parking brake and moving moving the shifter from forward to reverse so let's do that right now so we are free I think think we should be clear I don't see Samantha that's telling me she's over there so I was just looking in the that was started operating Samantha we're going to we're going to roll just so you know all right so um now this as we said like we said earlier we've got both a automatic and a manual mode with this machine correct B based on operating conditions and what what kind of work you're doing what you're Comfort level is you can either shift left and right on the steering wheel or we can enable the joystick and and shift that way as well the joysticks handy when you're when you're ramming a pile and you need to shift down quick okay you don't have to reach over and and and mess with the shifter you can just do it all from your [Music] fingertip all right and she's quiet too what does a unit like this go for Mike you you know they if if they're early Off Lease we we're in the 150 range and if they're brand new machines that that just just arrived 180 to 190 fully loaded like this the machine can be configured to whatever specifications you'd like so now let's show them how we go from manual to uh automatic mode okay this is this is an incredibly fun feature and and very handy if you're if you're if you're working on snow or you're you're in a pile all day long so right now I'm in manual mode so if I put it in upward we're going to go whatever whatever the old school joystick says right yeah and this transmission will shift as high as the gear selector so in manual mode set to four it will automatically default the second your start out gear okay and it's going to move it's going to range all the way up to four and automatically downshift in in forward position right if you want if you'd like to use the joystick control you're going to shift into neutral so I pulled it back into neutral and we're going to enable the joystick and the upper left hand with the upper left hand button yep that has to be in the center position and then we're going to enable that there little green light illuminates on the and now I'm not in auto mode and now we're driving and that is just so if you've got an operator he's got his seat all the way back he's uh you know working and he's he's doesn't want to be reaching for I mean it seems like a little thing but not when you're plowing 16 hours 20 hours or and some of you guys know more and she'll go all the way up in auto mode to wherever we want her yeah it Road all your road speed about 25 M hour so if you're if you're fying between job sites and they're you know they're not too far away you can you can drive this thing down the row turn signals strobe lights really really good lighting system on this machine you're going to approach your pile and if you wanted to back up just fli the switch and let me go y [Applause] so now I'm doing everything right from the controls and the controls roll with the operator okay so the seat and the controls don't aren't separated oh see look at me I'm going old school I am old school I am old school you guys so here I am I'm like I'm used to it okay so now since I actually shifted my shifter just have to restart start yeah Center and then so I reenter I make sure that I get in that mode to get into that mode I hit the button and now I'm new school look at me being all new school great for driving moving moving the machine around uh but but when when you're working a site for long periods of time it doesn't seem like much but that that's a game changer for the operator yeah now I also do want to show these guys how you can disconnect the bucket yeah yeah it it it it's a it's a very simple process am I going to be in this guy's way here no you're you're just fine okay so I'm going to go into neutral I'm going to hit the uh the which one is the bucket disengage right here right lower the bucket to the ground quick you don't want me to just drop it off think it would make more interesting and that's it my bucket is off sorry about the noise but it is what it is Mike will you hold that I want to get right in here real quick about 60 seconds to switch between your loading bucket and and your your snow Pusher so if you if you are in between bailing snow and and pushing you don't have you don't have a lot of time you're not out there with the hammer and trying to trying to free those pins out that was it I just dropped I dropped and I re-engaged I'm going to do that again Mike Will you hop out and and get a a shot of it from the outside so I can show these guys how how easy that is now watch I'm going to screw it up [Applause] I don't think I've ever had shop us around here we're switching between forks and buckets and and different tools you know to move trucks around when they're frozen or the the engines failed we need to get them into the shop and and I can switch between a bucket and forks and and just you know about 60 seconds what else do we need to know about these machines bu it's it's a tier four stage five emission system okay none of us really love de right you don't need to do a mechan manual regeneration on this machine unless you have excess idle hours we we haven't had one of these heavy loaders that required a regeneration cycle where we had to go out and per perform a Force regen or or the machine wouldn't would wouldn't wouldn't complete on its own cycle so it's doing a passive regen all the time when you're operating it's pretty worry free it's it's not the old DE systems that that caused so much so much trouble for people um if you're if you're in an application other than snow the the machine is Factory standard with a weigh-in system the weigh-in systems within 1% it's a very accurate weighing system so you can you can manage how much egg you're moving moving if if you're transferring piles or what you're loading onto trucks and that can all be done through the monitor there's there's a ton of different settings that we can that we can dial in or the operator can dial in if you have a specific need or a specific application where you want this transmission to shift differently or or you're doing the same function every day and you want you want to adjust a few settings it's completely customizable like I said earlier it's a simple or or as complex as you'd like it to be course and it and it applies to many many applications so here at Universal Truck Sales you've got Hyundai loaders Hyundai excavators and Hyundai skid steers as well so it's it's not a you're not a one pony show uh Hy is a a full line product uh they they employ a couple hundred thousand people in the US and and the the product has been been really really good to us and our customers product support has been second and none on on Hyandai so I am leasing this over the winter so do you guys lease a lot of equipment lease rental and sales okay so if a guy wants more information on any one of the the Hyundai machines where would they go how would they find you guys they're welcome to come to the dealership or or they can call us here th this 940 right now has a has an incentive 0% interest rate right now it's it's unheard of on a front end loader in 0% 0% yeah that's free money it's it's crazy build your business using somebody else's money at 0% don't even think about it just yeah it just do it we were we were very excited to see that that's the biggest the biggest concern right now is in is okay is that across all Hyundai dealers it is okay okay so if you have a local Hyundai dealer you can go do that if you are in Minnesota I'm going to recommend you check these guys out at Universal truck
