I call BS on Dewalts NEW tools

ward damn that sounds like an Angry Beaver that's one story you said does anybody he's going to keep talking schat [Music] all right guys I am in the DeWalt booth and DeWalt Cassandra I got a question for you how many new tools does the Walt have oh my gosh we have an entire system battery powered um it it's going to be great we're going to walk through see she's going to lead the charge and the first thing we're looking at guys what are we looking at first we're going to show our plate comp Packer so you guys have a new battery system out as well right battery the new battery yeah Power sh platform okay so it's a Powers shift platform and we're going to learn a little bit more about that but is that what's going to be powering a lot of these new tools absolutely I know nothing about this and I'm some of you guys probably know more than I do so walk me through this will you yeah so this new battery platform it's going to operate all the new products that you're going to see here today the plate compactor the rammer uh the core drill over here uh speed everything everything you have all the power of gas but the conveni the B simply push a button and you go okay so we know about the convenience but the real thing that comes up is what is the run run time on it what's the recharge time and how much does a battery cost because sometimes this new battery Tech is just cost prohibitive and it's just like everybody's playing a me too game in my opinion like oh they've got a battery they've got a battery they've got a battery I've got to have a battery what's wrong with gas I love gas I love the smell of gas I love the cost of gas I don't like anything else like the taste of gas right right right right right yeah so re really really with this though a lot of this is convenient so these these units they're put in the back of a truck they're put on the back of a fi they get TI on the side they don't start very good the problem with these small carburetors little jets in the carburetor they're hard to start especially with ethanol in the fuel nowadays so that's part of the that's part of the issue the beauty with the battery though that you know for years a year people would say oh it has the it has the power of gas but it had the run time you know it didn't have the now we have the run time in fact with this battery here you have 30% more run time than you do with the the gas unit the same exact unit the same one G one gas can full you're going to run 30% longer are these the same unit yeah same unit here so you know just kind this hits about the same as 150 lb plate Packer yeah so this is a little heavier 238 lb 2383 the battery though that we're talking about here uh this is our this is our new power shift battery okay this is this is this uses a pouch system just like on your cell phone fast charging the charge 55 minute run time or 55 minute charge time I should said 55 minute charge time how long is it going to run so depending depending on the substrate uh it's going to be between 30 and 45 minutes of run you're going to get you're going to get 1,300 linear feet on a single charge okay okay the nice the nice thing about it too is um there's an adapter with our Flex volt batteries so if you're if have a cuto off saw or you're using other uh DeWalt flexible tools there's an adapter you can pop in and you can run it on this machine to get you through the last bit of the job you can use flex volt batteries you can use flex volt batteries as well there's an adapter basically it's just a hollow housing here we pop it pop the battery in how how so how many new batteries have you guys come out with though we got flexible we' got this we've got the old ones we got the other old ones how many more you going to get so we're if to that point we're exactly simplifying we're trying we're trying to keep so this is for large all the cering tools One battery that's what we're doing for 50 wat hours that translates to 5,000 watts of power that's that's the same that's the same amount of power as a 6 and half horsepower gas mod all right okay let me see how she operates slide in slide in we pop it in nice thing about it too versus the gas units you're going to have to come over here and adjust the carburetor you're going to pull start it all that okay all that once you get it started you're going to smell the F nice thing about it here the gas units the controls are over here the controls are on the handle now it's very very simple you simply you got you got low and high you simply push the button in and down and you're and you're good to go easy to turn off very simple very simple so we we go in and down and now we're going like your your front yard very easy to do you can see the nice to meet you nice to me first man out of Nebraska watching your videos for on time oh thank you sir appreciate it all right show me the handles so the handles for transport mode okay and then real easy lock the handles in here with this lever okay lock it in it so makes it so easy to for transport simply just push the lever and now you can move it very easily really easy to put up on the trailer at the end of the day you worked all day make it easy to get on the truck and TR awesome all right thank you sir this is new by dewal right 100% new Vall yeah so right here we have our drill mounted into our stands if they're using the drill handheld it's going to be a flexible tool if you're putting it onto the stand it's powered by our new powershift platform it's also backwards compatible with flex use an adapter so we're not going to lock anyone out of their current system um I'll start with the drill here this is really important there's three variable speed options and that's just based on what bit size you're using so right now we have it in two for 3-in bit maack this is a 3-in bit you're going to want your higher speed speed three is the highest speed for your smaller bits you want your slower speed for your bigger bits so this goes up to 638 in Max that's what the motor is um optimized for also important here ambidextrous user interface on both sides of this carrier you'll see the same controls you'll see the same controls you have the up and down arrow that's how you saw me coring that's how you get it up and down the stand is that for the noobs that don't know up is up and down is down it's a 100% for the news God if you don't put a label there they're like What's this thing um and then this is to lock the Jill in and out of the STS that's for the guys that ate too much lead paint when they were kids right so that will let you take it out use it handheld you want to lock it in when it's in the stands it's not going anywhere it's not going to twist when you're using it um really cool with the base here you see it's anchored in right now we do have a vacuum base um so you can vacuum out your stand um if you like that option you can take out the vacuum insert if you don't want to get it scratched up while you're not using it all right yep that's new by DeWalt new by DeWalt thank you so much sir all right so DeWalt has a new vibrator so we are launching the new powers shift Walt vibrator vibrating system we've got our backpack as well as our power pack you look at the backpack for our flat work it's got a fully adjustable harness with ambidex controls for either side this will fit our smallest to our largest craft worker you've got our elevator on the back that once you have it adjusted you can line that up to really reduce the weight on your back right now this tool weighs about 25% less than the gas powered version and it runs about 30% longer than gas power well that's a big red plake cuz gas power you just stick more gas in and you keep running with this battery it takes 55 minutes to recharge it is my understanding is that correct that is correct 55 minutes to recharge okay um and with our development partners that we have these out with right now they have not seen any runtime issues so you've got a control right on the front yes sir okay so you can mount it on either side the one thing so we are using a high frequency or a high Cycle System we are not using flex shaft what that means is whether it's the power pack or this backpack there is no moving part on this backpack so there's no noise emitted from the backpack itself there's no emissions there's no noise from here everything comes from the head itself the head and shaft system has a brushless motor and an eccentric inside here that is the Quick Connect so that drives us drives our efficiency and our runtime Quick Connect you line up Plug and Play oh that is pretty slick isn't it how much run time will you get on [Music] there 7 foot hose with a 2in head we're still doing the testing right now we'll have better runtime numbers but with this one specifically I've had our development Partners tell us they're making it on an all day pour call it 8 hours they're swapping battery midday so midday really okay it doesn't chew up a lot of juice like some of the other not so the the power pack the backpack and the sced all will actually perform very well with the use of the adapter as Wellies uh it'll be launched this fall awesome thank you sir all right guys we're back with Trevor and we are looking at the new what are we looking at Powers shift power screed so this is going to be one of the most powerful screeds on the market when it's available it's the only street that has the power to break a cold joint why is that important anybody that knows what a cold joint knows how important that is but it'll also pull up to a 16t barow fully adjustable out of the box this tool is set up to take any L-shaped bar beam cord whatever you want to call it with the industry standard 9-in hole spacing with the included adapter it'll also bolt up to the two most popular triangular beams and we have the adapter mounted on that one [Music] so fully adjustable controls you can adjust the height the angle of the handles the size of the controls also the width of the grip These Bars come out and they can swap so if you want a wider grip the handles come out and go this way if you want a narrow grip they come out and go the other way there's your narrower grip same bars wider grip got it bars wider grip the tool stage to do all the adjustments is right here in the back of the handle itself got a three-finger variable speed switch right here with the lock on at full speed open [Music] damn that sounds like an Angry Beaver holy crap yeah it depends on the the slump of the concrete and how hard your head it runtime 40% longer than gas which means nothing again nothing well when I get when I have my actual runtime all the testing I'm going to tell you how many I know I'm going to tell you how many trucks I'm going to tell you how many square feet I'm going to tell you how many cubic yards I have that okay you'll get about 45 minutes of constant runtime from a tank of gas on our number one competitor you're going to get well over an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes of constant run time constant run time yes means nothing but it gives you an idea but the recharge time is 55 minutes 55 minutes so you're you can work all day long on two batteries all right so I've had some development partners with this running a 16t bar they did 400 cubic yards which laid out to about just shy of like 25,000 ft they did 400 cubic yards to concrete with that with this one charge one charge one charge that's all we needed to know that's that's an impressive number yeah now it's that's on a site user who has our es our prototyp so did you head up all of the new concrete tools K I am okay well most of them so when I came on I took over all of them but then we added uh Taylor took over two of the other power chip Chris still has Hammer who heads up who heads up the hammer the hammer is going to be Chris rammer PL compactor or me rammer can you show me the rammer let's go all right we just keep the camera [Music] rolling all right what do we need to know about the r rammer what do we need to know about the rammer what we need to know about the rammer is one thing that's going to separate this not just from a gas engine or version with a gas engine or even our competitor's version it's going to start right here with the motor that's a DeWalt built sealed brushless motor that is what drives the power on this and also drives the power on our plate compactor okay this is our own engineering added to this to maximize the amount of runtime the efficiency and the power with that we also have two speeds for this tool so you're not going to lose any compaction Force what it's going to do is slow down the forward travel speed to allow you to get more control so still do the same amount of work all the controls are mounted on the handle for easy access limited grip of release of grip you have a two-stage onoff switch we don't have a power button or any Activation so this is two stages push it forward and down stop right there if you noticed when it started it was a little bit of a soft start yeah that is on purpose that is a patented soft start that we have to allow the user to grip this and really be confident about what they're about to do because men aren't men anymore no it's yeah I'm talking to half of the not you the other half of the guys out there that dadd been teach them how to FP their pants out and go to work like a man every day exactly Labor's tough they got to figure it out so you don't want them getting hurt in the process so what's the run time like this on brother run time on this is uh about right now about 575 linear feet per charge so not not terrible our development partners are telling us they're getting from about 20 to 45 minutes depending on the sub of the guys that that you work with go yeah I normally like the you know Chun packed about 550 linear feet do anybody ever even talk in this actually actually I did have a user one of the first users I placed this with he is a they're a landscaping company not we're hardscaping all-inclusive concrete they were actually doing uh a new sprinkler system at one of their sites and when I came in it was I said how long did it run his exact answer was 675 linear feet and I said how did you know 675 linear feet he said cuz that's how much pipe we put in the ground that's one story you said anybody so I'm going to give you again when we launch this in the fall I am going to have true runtime data in the language that speak yeah that's the whole goal with all the pow sh thank you sir not problem thank you look who's back if I told you the if you asked me run time on the power pack while we're over there with the vibrator I could tell you we're getting about 16 to 20 columns per charge with a 2in head and a 2 he's going to keep talking schack let's go all right cand do the side handle detect grinder okay all right let's do it good side it's your good side now yeah I'm St Brian Brian nice to meet you sir I think I met you last year as well maybe all right right what are we looking at with this one give you the walk here now you got to talk loud cuz I'm hard to hear and my camera microphone is too oh fine with me okay so what we have here is the dcg 418 side handle detect grinder so what this grinder does is this encourages your user to use two hands on the grinder and the way we're doing that is we have an integrated side handle trigger on the side handle of the grinder you have to engage this trigger first before pressing your your primary trigger to start the grinder now this is not our first run at dual trigger tools so we recognize that folks like to feather the trigger so you can still come on and off that trigger when you're running the tool but if I come off for longer than a second I have to re-engage okay okay so this is more of a safety lever and this is more of your feather trigger you're activating right you have to use both triggers to start and run the grinder if you come off either trigger you only have a second to come back on to keep that grinder running otherwise it's going to shut down you have to re-engage it this is to help mitigate risk to your user we also have integrated with this tool our tool connect system so right out of the box no trip required you're able to integrate with the dewal site manager app to give you utilization data tool tracking data inventory management and safety metrics as well this is all built on the back of our dcg 418 grinder to give you those SA awesome features of Kickback break e clutch max out this is coming out in Q4 this year Q4 this year do you do a demo absolutely I can do a demo all right let's see awesome
