Cut In Concrete Edges with a Paintbrush
At 7:22 in
How to seal and protect your concrete driveway or patio so it lasts!
What happens here
Using a screwdriver, carefully pry open the lid of the 5-gallon bucket of Euclid Chemical Everclear sealer. Pour a manageable amount of sealer into a smaller paint bucket. Take an 'El Cheapo' paintbrush and dip it into the sealer. Begin by 'cutting in' along all the edges of the concrete pad. This includes the perimeter where the concrete meets the building, around any drains, and where the new concrete abuts the stamped concrete patio. Apply the sealer neatly along these borders, ensuring a clean line. If you're concerned about getting sealer on the building walls, use painter's tape (blue painter's tape is recommended) to mask off the areas. Note that the concrete will absorb a lot of sealer on the first coat, so it may look splotchy until it dries.
Goal: Apply concrete sealer precisely along the perimeter and joints of the concrete pad.
