Diagnose & Correct Sprayer Tip Seating

What happens here

The painter describes encountering heavy paint spits on a newly sprayed door. He immediately stopped the spraying process to troubleshoot the issue. Upon inspection, he found that the spray tip was not fully seated into the guard, with about a 1/16th of an inch gap. This improper seating allowed paint to build up on the edge of the guard, which was then ejected onto the door as spits. The problem was resolved by simply pushing the spray tip completely and securely into the guard. This corrected the spray pattern, and subsequent spraying resulted in a flawless finish.

Goal: Identify the cause of heavy paint spits by inspecting the spray gun tip's seating within its guard and correcting any misalignment to ensure optimal spray performance.
