Perform the Squeeze Test on Worm Castings

What happens here

To assess the moisture level of your worm castings, don a pair of gloves. Reach into the container of worm castings and scoop up a small handful of the material. Visually inspect the material for its dark, rich color, which indicates that the worms have effectively processed the organic matter. Then, gently but firmly squeeze the handful of castings. The goal is to observe how much, if any, liquid is expelled. Optimal moisture is indicated when no water, or perhaps just a single drop, seeps out.
