What happens here

When painting edges, whether on window frames or fascia, it is crucial to apply light and consistent pressure with the roller. If too much pressure is applied, or the pressure is inconsistent (heavy, then light), the roller's nap will push paint over the edge, resulting in a wavy, unprofessional-looking line. Always keep the roller flat and square to the surface, avoiding tilting, to ensure a straight and clean paint line without unwanted 'rollover' onto adjacent surfaces. This also applies to painting overhead surfaces like fascia where the underside edges are visible.
