How To Paint A Ceiling With A Roller. Painting A Ceiling.

I'm going to start this task off and I'm going to start doing I'm going to run around this room. I'm going to do all my cutins first and bring my my edges out around you know the width of a 4-in nap around the edge. Do around my light and any other thing types of things hanging around from the ceiling. I'm going to do that first and then I'll begin rolling the ceiling. I'm going to just hand cut in around this light. Let's show you work around this light here. Just got this light just about cut in and I'm going to start working on the cutings around the edges of the ceilings next. This I don't have to worry about getting it down on the walls cuz I'm going to be painting my walls. So can quickly just run my brush along the edges off the wall. I've done the ceiling cutins and the paint is still really wet and you want to work fairly quickly while your cutins are still wet so you don't get this is a pretty dark and vibrant color. And if this if any color is going to give you a haloing, this color will. So all these patterns are still wet, you want to start your rolling of the ceilings. And I'm going to start rolling now with my 9in nap. and want to start in one area and begin working your way from that area to the opposite side of the room. And you're going to be attempting to keep a wet edge. So, you don't want to you don't want to move from end to end of the room. You want to start one point and just work your way along keeping the paint wet in a wet edge. And it's extremely difficult to actually lay out a ceiling. So, you're just going to do the best you can, working quickly in the room and keeping a wet edge. So you had I just need to go pick it up. Yeah, it's the black one. Just getting one bite and that's all. You can see I'm continuing to paint only one direction rolling, keeping a wet edge. And I'm going to go back when it dries in about 30 minutes and roll it the opposite direction. While I'm rolling, I want to keep my tray at a nice good reach so I don't have to move around, walk to my tray. So, I want to keep it right near me. So, I just keep loading my nap up and keep rolling. See, I've got the entire ceiling rolled now. And it's wet. Been able to keep a wet edge. Definitely needs another coat and drying pretty quickly. So, we're going to go back and do our no next coat here fairly. So, now I got my first coat done. It's almost dry. Getting ready to do my second coat the opposite direction. And I ran it this direction, keeping a wet edge. Now I'm going to run it the opposite direction, keeping a wet edge, and my ceiling will be done. And then I'm going to go back and do my wall. Just about dry, my first coat. Now I'm going to begin working on my second coat. Rolling it the opposite direction, attempting to keep a wet edge the whole time. I'll get as close as I can to my edges. And then I'm going to be rolling it. Last time I rolled it this direction. Now I'm going to be rolling it the opposite direction. keeping your pan close by where you can quickly reach it. The quicker you can reach your pan and keep rolling, the easier it is to keep a wet edge and you're not concerned about laying out your paints on the ceiling. It's just about virtually impossible to lay it out like you would a wall. But our whole idea is just to put paint on, keep a wet edge so you don't get any haloing or lap marks. Keeping a wet edge, your paint's going to gel out, flow together, and look even and consistent. I got a bed I'm working around here. Got some furniture I'm working around. Couldn't get it out of the room. Got it covered up, but my extension pole is going to make it really easy for me to reach and work around this furniture. The ceiling is now done. All rolled. All dried. And now I've actually rolled the walls. Two coats on the walls. That's what it looks like.
