HOT RODS OF THE STONEY RIDGE FARM!! WRENCH TIME ON THE SS 454!!!

What happens here

The presenter then locates the timing tab and harmonic balancer (lower pulley) at the front of the engine, noting that the timing marks are rusted and difficult to read. He "bumps" the engine (momentarily turns the key without starting) to rotate the crankshaft until the top dead center (TDC) mark and subsequent advance marks (0, 4, 8, 12, 16 degrees) are visible. He uses white paint to highlight these marks, particularly the 12-degree advanced mark, for better visibility with the timing light. Following this, he uses a low-profile 9/16 inch wrench to loosen the distributor hold-down bolt, which is located in a hard-to-reach area at the base of the distributor.

Goal: Prepare the engine for timing adjustment by highlighting the marks and freeing the distributor.
