Her Calf Didn't Make It....Here's What happened!
What happens here
After the calf is delivered, the farmer immediately stimulates the cow (Mona) by rubbing her head and other areas to encourage her to stand up. He highlights that seeing her eyes roll back was a worrying sign, indicating severe exhaustion or shock. Getting the cow on her feet is crucial for her recovery and to prevent complications like 'downer cow syndrome.' Once Mona is up, she starts walking and, surprisingly, displays strong maternal instincts by taking to another cow's (Susie's) live calf. The deceased calf is then carefully loaded onto the ATV's front rack and transported away from the herd to be buried, preventing further distress to the other animals.
Goal: Ensure the mother cow's recovery and respectfully dispose of the deceased calf.
