He Didn't Believe it was real.... Until he Drove it away.

You know, before we pick a winner on these truck giveaways, I usually been saying a prayer that it goes to the right person. And then I let God do the picking from that point. I don't know, today you guys, I've never met this person, but together you and I are going to find out who God chose for this one. Boom. Let's go pick him up from the airport. Hopefully I can just pull in, pick him up, and scoot out. Cuz here in Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport, you're not allowed to hang out. Think we found him. Melvin. >> Yes. >> How are you? >> I'm good. I was like, no way I won. >> Who have you told so far? >> Uh just about everybody. >> Just about everybody? >> Yeah, or they seen the video, too. >> Oh, yeah? >> Yeah, they did. They've been calling me up like, "Man, that" until they seen me. Once they heard the part where I got to take my grandson to school, they said, "Yeah, that's you." >> Nice to meet you. >> Nice to meet you, man. Nice to meet you. >> Where's your buddy? Didn't you have someone >> He didn't come. >> He didn't come? >> He didn't come. >> So, you're going to be driving this thing all by yourself, huh? >> That's the hat right there? >> Yes, it is. >> Well, that's the winner. That's your ticket. That's your dinner ticket right there. >> So, how do you feel right now? Like >> It's just that I'm I'm trying to bring the smile down cuz it's hurting. >> Does it feel real yet? >> No, not yet. >> No? >> Yeah, well. All right. Melvin's first view of the truck right here coming around. >> I can see my friends out there like >> Can I buy it off you? >> Well, I'm thinking it's my truck. >> Does it look anything like the pictures? >> No. >> No? >> A lot bigger. I wouldn't even expect it to be even that high up and this Woo, man. >> It is a rig. >> God, this making me like, yeah, it's real. And it's there. You know guys, you're not used to hearing Melvin talk a lot because he was basically speechless. In fact, when I first called him to let him know that he was the winner, he forgot how old he was. I'm like, "Hey Melvin, how old of a guy are you?" He's like, "I'm I'm 56." Well, no, Melvin, you're actually 64, but that's all right. So, anyway, let's jump back into this one. It felt so good just to see this guy uh you know, what a what a what a blessing to be able to bless somebody else like this. >> This is something else. I would not known that would come true. >> Well, it is definitely coming true today. >> I really appreciate it. >> And anytime you use a dump trailer, if you're not familiar with them, Melvin, pull that cord all the way out. >> Yeah. >> And stand away from Yeah. We almost lost Alex's leg uh when one of them jackknifed on ice. It pushed the trailer forward and it almost caught him between the truck and the trailer. It was He had to jump back and it ripped his pants. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, there's a little bit of a a learning curve with these things. Is this your first dump trailer, Melvin? >> Yes, cuz usually I've I've rented them, but they're smaller. >> No, no, this one actually has two beams that run down the center of it instead of crossbeams this way. >> Okay. >> And the benefit of that is like uh it's like the dump trucks and the quad axle trucks out there, so they and they build those boxes for those trucks, so they build the trailers the exact same way. It's a higher quality floor and it's a higher quality finished uh dump trailer. And also, the paint process on these Southlands is a little different as well, because this is actually the same kind of paint that they put on trucks. >> Okay. >> So, most trailers out there are powder coated, so your when it whenever it gets a rock chip on it, the the powder coat flakes off. >> Right. >> This is a different process, so if you had anytime you ever scratch it up and you want to repaint it, it's the same as repainting a truck that >> And it's like I bought a hat before, I'm like, "Where's my hat? I can't find my hat." I must have lost it one of the sites. And then when I seen it and I seen this for the last time, I'm like, "All right, let me buy another hat." So, that's when I I just like, "Let me just buy another hat, put it in there." I said this is the last day. Let me try it. I didn't expect the call. >> No, he caught you a little off guard. >> Way off guard. >> Well, we're happy for you, Melvin. >> I appreciate it. >> We're happy for you. You got yourself a nice setup. This All right. Well, it's official now, Melvin. How do you feel, my friend? >> Excited. I was trying to find the right word. >> So, I got a few questions for you. >> Okay. >> Uh number one, how did you feel when you first heard that you won the DM3 giveaway? >> I was definitely speechless, didn't believe it. Words wasn't coming fast enough. >> You didn't even remember how old you were, Melvin. You thought you were 56, remember? >> And now I'm very excited. >> And what would you say to somebody who is skeptical about entering our giveaways? >> Look at me. >> Last question. Does it feel real yet? >> Still not yet. Once I start driving in in the car, smiles start coming down a little bit. I'll be like All right, you guys. Well, that's Melvin. He's He's our happy winner today, but we'll give you a little sneak peek at what we've got the next one actually getting worked on right now, and we keep trying to make these things bigger and better and hopefully more of a blessing for you guys.
