Witness the Damage

What happens here

Looking in his rearview mirror, the narrator witnessed the 'beautiful truck' (which he had just purchased and was being followed by its previous owner) hit the pile of brush in the road. This resulted in unexpected damage to the truck shortly after its purchase.

Goal: To the narrator's dismay, the previous owner, following behind, failed to avoid the road debris and drove directly into the pile of brush.
