What happens here
Begin by placing the first composite deck board at a 45-degree angle against the pre-installed border. Use a cordless drill and appropriate deck screws to secure the board to the subframe. Continue to cut subsequent boards at 45-degree angles to fit snugly against the previously laid boards and the border, forming the V-shaped herringbone pattern. Each board is then fastened with deck screws. Maintain consistent spacing between boards for proper drainage and thermal expansion. The video shows alternating placement of lighter-colored composite boards to complete the pattern.
Goal: Install composite deck boards to create a herringbone pattern.
