What happens here

The first phase of the project involves preparing the sub-base for the office area, installing any necessary under-slab utilities such as PEX tubing for radiant floor heating, and positioning any floor drains or electrical conduits. Once prepared, concrete is poured into the designated area, leveled using screeds, and then finished to a smooth, durable surface using floats and trowels. The video opens by showcasing the completed, freshly poured concrete slab for the office section, which appears wet and reflective, indicating it has just been finished.

Goal: Complete the concrete floor for the office section.

Tools and materials

  • Hand Trowel — For final smoothing and finishing of the concrete surface
  • PEX Tubing — Installed under the slab for radiant floor heating
  • PVC Pipes — Used for floor drains or electrical conduits embedded in the slab
  • Screed — To level the wet concrete
