GETTING RAFTER IT!!!..#build #builder #construction #framing

What happens here

A two-person team works cooperatively to install the rafters. One worker carries a long piece of lumber across the open deck framework, carefully navigating the joists below. The second worker is positioned higher up, likely on a ladder or scaffolding, ready to receive and guide the far end of the lumber. Together, they coordinate their movements to safely lift the rafter and place it onto the main horizontal support beams of the overhead structure. This efficient process is then repeated for subsequent rafters, establishing a methodical rhythm for building the roof framework.

Goal: Place rafters onto the main support beams

Tools and materials

  • Ladder — Providing elevation for one worker to guide and secure the rafters onto the main beams
  • Lumber — The main wooden members that span between the support beams to form the roof structure
  • Safety Gloves — Protecting hands from splinters and improving grip on lumber
