Getting Drywall Into a House In The Winter

What happens here

After the joint compound has fully dried and cured, a skim coat (or final coat of mud) is applied to further smooth the entire surface, followed by a finishing sand. This meticulous sanding ensures a perfectly flat and smooth surface, preparing the walls and ceilings for primer and paint. The presenter highlights the decision to maintain clean, square-wrapped drywall around windows and doors for a modern look, rather than adding traditional trim, except for the kitchen window and front door where trim is necessary.

Goal: Achieve perfectly smooth and finished drywall surfaces, ready for paint.

man so awesome seeing the progress here so they got the corners all done up they specifically asked me they're like do you want to put trim around and wear and I said no no I want you to do a nice clean wrap I told them to do square or rounded the triangle ones are definitely the ones to do it on but there were some questions like the rest of the windows and doors what we're going to do with them so I kind of made an executive decision to kind of keep it more of this I don't know like a modern feel to it so even over here on the sliding doors nice squared wrapped all four ways around so I don't have to put trim on there the only thing we're going to have to do is with this front door because there's not enough meat right there to grab on to put any kind of dry ball so that's that's inevitable and I also made one last executive decision is in the kitchen I'm going to do trim and a window sill there reason why is I think it's going to look so much cleaner with the transition being the trim for the backsplash that will go on there so you'll have the sink backplash coming all the way up and you'll be able to have that border there to kind of break up you know the transition between the corner and the backsplash itself everything is so nice and smooth I'm so impressed how much of artist drywallers are So the plan is tomorrow they're going to come and start doing the skim coat on it once they're done with that I believe in 2 days after that they will do the texture on it and he says I'll be able to see some samples before I can say yay or nay on it but my favorite part is we're able to have the beam completely exposed and they asked me if I wanted to wrap it and I said no I know it's hard to get all the cracks and the crevices all covered but it would really look so much nicer if this freaking monstrosity of a gland beam you guys remember the installation 64 ft long 5,000 lb we got to see it up there we definitely got to see it guys it's been officially 8 Days the drywall is not
