Install Outdoor Landscape Lighting
At 0:30 in
Front landscape renovation.
What happens here
Install low-voltage landscape lighting fixtures according to your design plan. Position accent lights to highlight the architectural features of the house, path lights along the formal walkway, and uplights to illuminate prominent plants or the water feature. Dig shallow trenches, typically 4-6 inches deep, to bury the low-voltage wiring. Connect each light fixture to the main low-voltage cable using waterproof connectors. Route the main cable back to the landscape lighting transformer. Mount the transformer in an accessible outdoor location and connect it to a dedicated GFCI-protected outdoor outlet. Once installed, turn on the system and adjust the aim of each light fixture to achieve the desired effect and prevent glare.
Goal: Enhance the aesthetic appeal and safety of the front yard during nighttime hours.
