(7,745 characters)this time on the stoney ridge farm we're getting dad's old 68 bronco back and we're taking her to the mega shop i ain't afraid i ain't afraid of play i ain't afraid to get the job done [Music] hey there folks this is josh stoney ridge farmer welcome back to another gorgeous day here on the stoney ridge ford ranch i say the stony ridge ford ranch i'm not really a ford guy but today is about a ford a ford bronco that really means a whole lot to me it was my dad's bronco i bought it from dad probably four or five years ago and i came upon hard times and i sold the bronco off so that i could continue building the farm while i was going through some marital troubles well long story short things have recovered a little bit and i actually reached out to the fellow that i sold the bronco to and asked him man if you could find it in your heart to please sell me the bronco back i would love to have it it's a piece of my family history and he agreed to sell it back so today we're waiting on my friend mike we're gonna hop in a roll back and we're gonna pick up the 68 bronco that my dad had when we were growing up as kids so we had two vehicles on the farm we had a 52 willis jeep and we had the 68 bronco and the bronco is just rusty crusty and awesome in so many ways guys so come along as we bring a little bit of family history back to the farm to never be sold again the ford bronco [Music] looks like mike is here and we're going on the road right now let's see mike you ready to work let's do it all right all day well good to see you man yeah so we're gonna take the rig over here uh roll back and we're gonna roll the bronco on up here so let's have some fun i think it's in this cluster of trees up here we're here and there's the bronco man look at that thing first of all man thank you thanks thanks for getting me back into the bronco dad's bronco here i just it's a family heirloom that i was stupid for getting rid of in the first place but uh yeah it was good to hook back up awesome yep yeah i just hate all this construction and got in the rain and kind of messed it up a little bit but yeah right a little sand didn't get it done a little sanding will get it done but what he's talking about guys is he's got a little surface rust he stripped a lot of paint off right here so we've got to get in here this is an aftermarket roof right here it's a different kind of roof than uh than a factory bronco roof a factory bronco roof would roll over so this one's just a little bit different you can see he stripped the hood underneath here we got the high output 289 so this goes indoors most certainly as soon as i get it back to the house the old bronco goes indoors check it out so we're gonna load it up real quick and do some head scratch and get it back home get it in the shop [Music] mike is an awesome tow truck driver he hauls everything for me uh tractors trucks all sorts of stuff really saves me a lot of time and money to have a good guy with a roll back like this i hope it's not in gear yeah there it goes so [Music] she's loaded up she's ready to go mike you're taking pictures you ready to roll let's get back let's get back to stoneville back to the stoney ridge thanks again brother thank you so much appreciate it gosh can't say how much i thank you man that's that's just super awesome uh charging me 18 grand for it though is a little much but no he gave me a great deal he gave me a great deal man i know that this thing needs 40 000 worth of work easy easy so let's get her home get her off and get her in the mega shop we'll walk you guys all around and show you all of the work it needs [Music] we're here we're home and it's getting dark oh man we're gonna get this thing unloaded and bring you guys back in the morning and walk you around [Music] we'll see you guys in the morning when we've got a little more light to check the bronco out the reveal there it is guys let's walk around the bronco a little bit it's the next day and it is hot outside it got dark on us we're gonna walk around the truck and we'll show you everything you need to see the high output 289 v8 original oh goodness and everything's stuck in here let's go ahead and prop the hood up a little bit uh the cool part about the old broncos you can always just lay the hood right up there and out comes some squirrel signs we'll go ahead and uncover this it has a looks like a two barrel motorcraft carburetor and again that's the 289 v8 the original v8 that went on this i had it running when i sold it to him i am not sure about the running condition of this bronco right now and you can see he took a lot of the paint off and never sealed it so we've got to do something there you can see the fenders this fender will have to be replaced door skins pretty good shape this one's got a nice big dent in it and this one's kind of split so we might be into door skins also um you can see we got quite a bit of rust in the rockers uh quite a bit of rust right there the floor pans are gone the seats are gone oh man this is gonna be a huge huge project but they don't make them anymore so this is dad's broncos so the first thing i've got to do is just tuck this guy back in and get some kind of sealer on this paint right here or the lack of paint you can see the rust is starting to come up it's really going to get bad surface rust if we don't address this this is an aftermarket top guys if you're a bronco person let me know is that a jc whitney catalog order or a sears catalog i'm not sure at all what that might be the glass is out he took the glass out cleaned all the paint and debris off and you can see even got down here in the bed and cleared off some of the paint that's the original bumper original seats and i don't have a rear seat for it looking around the back here um this has had some serious serious rust repair back when i owned it i'm not sure exactly how i'm going to sort that out and this thing was registered in 1992 that was the last time it was registered uh these have been taken loose uh this has popped loose man there's just so much work that needs to be done but man it's so cool so that's the bronco that's it in a nutshell 289 three on the tree i know the clutch works it did run when i sold it to this guy so you guys are gonna have to stay tuned for a future video on the stony ridge farm channel as we get this thing running just so we can move it in and out of the shot i've got several projects lined up and this one is probably third on the list so you'll see this in another episode of the stony ridge farmer channel very soon guys i hope to have you back please pound that like button jump in subscribe the channel what a heartwarming experience dad does not know that i got his bronco back and we're gonna get it back get it running where i can run and drive around the local neighborhood anyway before i start doing a full restoration so it'll be a rolling restoration job
