Former Top Fuel Racer's 500MPH Viper Powered Monster: Doug Herbert's Purpose Driven Record Chase

What happens here

Doug Herbert, a former Top Fuel drag racer, introduces the project: to build a land speed record car. He reveals that the motivation for this ambitious project stems from a personal tragedy in 2008 when his two sons were killed in a car crash. Inspired by the movie 'The World's Fastest Indian' and with encouragement from his father, Chet Herbert (a pioneer in hot rodding), Doug decided to embark on building 'the Beast'—a streamliner designed to set a new world speed record.

Goal: Understand the project's purpose and the personal drive behind it.
