Flush out the old to make room for the new. #hardscape

What happens here

The video illustrates the initial and critical step of preparing paver surfaces for re-sanding. This involves using a pressure washer equipped with a focused spray nozzle to direct a high-pressure stream of water into the gaps between paving stones. The primary objective is to aggressively remove any accumulated debris, such as old joint sand, dirt, fine gravel, weeds, moss, and other organic matter that has settled or grown within these joints over time. The operator systematically moves the pressure washer wand along the paver lines, ensuring that the powerful spray dislodges and washes away all unwanted material from the deep crevices, leaving the joints clear and ready for the application of new polymeric sand or other jointing material.

Goal: Remove all existing sand, dirt, and organic growth from paver joints

Tools and materials

  • Pressure Washer Nozzle — Directing a precise, high-pressure stream of water into the narrow paver joints
  • Pressure Washer — Blasting debris out of paver joints with high-pressure water
  • Water N/A — The medium used by the pressure washer to clean the paver joints
