What happens here

After cutting, assemble the metal tubing sections into the desired frame shape (e.g., a rectangular perimeter with internal cross-braces). Use welding magnets to hold the pieces in place for tack welding. Put on a welding helmet and gloves, then use a MIG welder to permanently join the metal pieces. Ensure strong, consistent welds at all joints. After welding, use a drill to create pilot holes in the frame for mounting to wall studs.

Goal: Assemble and prepare the metal frame for wall mounting.

Tools and materials

  • Drill Ryobi — Drilling pilot holes in the metal frame for mounting
  • MIG Welder — Joining the metal tubing pieces together
  • Welding Gloves — Protecting hands from heat and sparks
  • Welding Helmet — Protecting eyes and face during welding
  • Welding Magnets — Holding metal pieces at specific angles for welding
  • Square Steel Tubing Pieces — Components of the welded frame
