Fire & Water Damage | Zinsser Bullseye 1-2-3 Primer

So today we're out here prepping an exterior we're Caulking and priming this exterior and I've run into a situation right here this isn't uncommon this is an interior fireplace gas burning fireplace and it's creating a whole swath of soot right here we're going to be repainting this house almost the same color it's going to be a really light white you don't want to paint over this soot without priming it because it just might bleed through the paint itself you want to get this stuff cleaned off so we power wash the house this is what we uh was left after power washing it now we're going to prime it so you don't want to paint over soot it's just going to get rewet it's going to probably absorb into the paint through the paint and discolor the paint today I'm got I've got zenzer Bullseye one23 primer I've got it in a quart I've also got it in a spray can it's going to be just easy just to take a spray can and use the spray can of it and this is a one coat height product it's an interior exterior product and it blocks stains it's going to block this suit blocks tough stains smooth finish seals odors sticks to all surfaces the big thing is can you use it outside we're outside and it is an interior exterior product it does say it's got 20% greater height I've used this stuff over and over it's absolutely amazing product from zenzer zenzer makes a lot of really really cool primers absolutely love the triple thick we're using that on the exture of the house I've got some blistering on here uh that really needs to be back brush when we paint we'll be back rushing it when we're using our triple thick we'll be back brushing it but this is the original paint job on the house also so I do think just to um enhance penetration and adhesion over this dark soot I'm just going to go ahead and just use a cord so I'm just going to pour some of my product in a 2 gallon bucket and then I'm going to begin just brushing it on it's a small area so I don't need to use a roller just going to use a so once I've gotten up here it's definitely this whole area has got s on it so I decided to just use a roller to get it on a lot faster than just simply brushing it so just using a 4-in roller throwaway roller that I don't need to worry about cleaning so zenzer 123 one of the reasons why I like it major reasons it's a water-based primer and it's extremely effective and blocking stain great stained blocker it dries in 30 minutes so you can top coat it really fast so if I'm priming and spraying same day I can do that so this primer is an extremely versatile primer being interior and exterior sticks to all surfaces makes it a really versatile allpurpose go-to primer that you can keep in your trailer or van for a variety of different situations smoke fire water damage super heavy viscosity another thing I like about it a lot of primers are really thin they drip and splatter a lot get no drips no splatters from this product when I'm done you know if you got really expensive rollers tools it does um clean up with warm water and you can just use Liquid detergent like Dawn dish soap if you want to clean your brush out cork cans gallons or spray cans just the final note whenever you're dealing with a spray can you got a propellant in the spray can so the formulation is a little bit different so if you get if you're back brushing with this you can't clean your tools up with warm soap and uh dish detergent so um if you're back rolling back brushing the quartz gallons are water-based easy clean up simple and easy to use so there it is zenzer Bullseye 123 for the customer was really concerned about the soot that was coming up here whether it was going to bleed through the paint whe the paint was going to stick to it I brushed and rolled coat of the 123 on the wall and on the sofit spray a coat of paint over it it's not bleeding through it's sticking really good it is zenzer Bullseye 123 performed perfectly on this [Music] [Applause]
