FAIL! Bobcats New Electric Skid steer Freezes during demo! 4K

What happens here

Colin explains that despite being a prototype, the Bobcat S7X needs calibration only about once a week. He highlights the benefits of electric machines for predictive maintenance, as the system can detect issues before the operator even notices them. Footage of the Bobcat S7X moving and operating for approximately 45 seconds is shown again, emphasizing its capabilities when functional. Stanley reiterates his positive experience with Bobcat equipment in general, noting that his critical comments are specific to the demo's hiccup, not the brand's overall quality.

Goal: Understand the maintenance and diagnostic advantages of electric heavy equipment.

just the Precision of the controls is very interesting huh I mean hey you can get a lot done in 45 seconds I mean I did make all three of my kids in under 45 seconds is he uh what is he doing in there right now oh he in a calibration so this is a prototype machine so occasionally we calibrate the bucket tilt and lift arm up and down ah okay it'll go through it and slow it's not something that will happen what will a price take be on something like this Colin it's so hard to say you know cuz every day we're adding Parts we're taking parts it's off so we don't have a price tag for it [Music] yet you don't have a warranty IDE and none of that because you're just not worried about marketing it yet you just show on the world hey look what we can build right well we're looking to see what kind of alternative fuels can we use in the field and I think that's a it's just a big demonstration of going something far different than what the industry is doing we're the only ones that have a true all electric machine and I don't think people uh really understand what that means and what the opportunity is for it the data we're getting getting off of these linear actuators we know every single piece of work that cylinder does the entire life it's on that machine but I'm guessing it's not hard to collect that much data when you only have to process 45 seconds of information so you think about that think about the mystery the black box of a hydraulic cylinder it doesn't it doesn't remember nothing remembers on how much work did it do how many times did it do it but with this when we look at predictive maintenance we look at um knowing there was a issue with the machine before the customer ever even belted those are the opportunities we're unlocking by having those be electrified how often do you have to calibrate it calibration wouldn't happen more than like once a week or two um and it's just at the start of the machine you know with it being a prototype machine occasionally if it it'll just call for a calibration as long as it doesn't spontaneously bust in burst into flames we're good no for sure you guys know what I'm talking about comment down below all right well since you got some calibration stuff you got to do uh I'm going to let you get at it much appreciate it all right before we get into the next segment of this video I just want to say this dude is a pretty cool dude so this has nothing to do with him so just don't pick on him and bobcat in general actually…
