What happens here
After the geotextile fabric is in place, a deep layer of crushed stone or gravel is brought in and spread over the entire driveway area. This material serves as the main structural base for the pavers. The stone is then compacted using a plate compactor in layers, or 'lifts,' typically 3 to 4 inches thick. Each lift is thoroughly compacted before the next is added. This meticulous compaction process is critical to eliminate air pockets and maximize density, ensuring the base is as hard and stable as possible to prevent any future settling of the driveway.
Goal: Create a dense and stable crushed stone base for the paver driveway
