Endurance Test: Flex vs Rigid at Setting 2 - Turbo Off

What happens here

Begin by setting up a stable workstation, ideally a workbench, and securely fasten a thick piece of wood, such as a 4x4 or larger timber block, to prevent any movement during drilling. Gather the two cordless drill drivers you intend to test, specifically a Flex and a Ridgid drill driver as demonstrated in the video. Prepare a sufficient supply of long wood screws, approximately 6 inches in length, and ensure that the appropriate drill bits (e.g., a bit suitable for driving these screws) are securely attached to each drill. Wear safety glasses and work gloves for protection.

Goal: Set up the testing environment and prepare both drill drivers and screws.

Tools and materials

  • Cordless Drill Driver — Driving screws for endurance testing
  • Drill Bits — For driving the long wood screws
  • Safety Glasses — Protecting eyes from flying debris
  • Work Gloves Carhartt — Protecting hands and improving grip
  • Long Wood Screws — To be driven into the wood block as part of the endurance test
  • Wood Block — The medium into which screws are driven for testing
