Earning my stripes! Is this Ventrac the best mower ever made?

What happens here

The rear transaxle hydraulic fluid is drained. This involves locating the drain plug on the rear of the machine, under the three-point hitch (if installed). The presenter removes a protective guard and then easily removes the drain plug using a 3/16" socket. The fluid is allowed to drain into a catch pan. The fluid is observed to be dark, indicating it was due for a change. After draining, the drain plug is reinserted and tightened to 1.5 turns after snug, as per the owner's manual. The rear transaxle is refilled using a Macnaught C16 suction gun to easily transfer the clean hydraulic fluid into the fill hole until it just starts to run out.

Goal: Drain old hydraulic fluid from the rear transaxle, inspect its condition, and then refill with fresh hydraulic fluid using a suction gun for ease of access.

a fill reservoir right up here under the hood so we'll give her a top off right there it'll save us a little bit of money in hydraulic fluid anyway here's the rear of the machine and the transaxle in the rear needs to be changed too so hopefully fingers crossed we can get that done again this is a 500 hour service and this is under 400 hours up under here very easy to access there's a guard up underneath this and we'll go up underneath the guard and this takes a 3 16 wrench now if you don't have the option on this is the option right here this is the three-point hitch option if you're going to drain your fluid out from the front transaxle the three-point is ran off of the front transaxle so you want it in the lowest position and you want the machine level and straight fingers crossed oh that one was way easy i don't know why the other one was in there so tight this one is super super easy i've already actually got it to where i can take it out with a it's finger tight now and the fluid looks almost new in here while that drains we're going to go up here up to the top and this is where you fill it there's a little plug right here and this plug takes a socket i like a socket a three quarter inch socket on that plug and that will open that critter up slipping that plug out that's all it is just a plug very simple three quarter inch socket fits right on there they say put thread locker on all but the last two so we don't want to introduce thread locker to the hydraulic system got a pretty cool way of instilling the hydraulic fluid here too because it's kind of back in a hole we'll replace our drain plug snug it down once we get it tight we'll give it one and a half turns okay that's what the owner's manual calls for oh yeah that stuff was due to be changed service interval says 400 but man that's the first change and it's a little bit dark so i'm glad we did it all right that looks way way worse than the hydraulic fluid reservoir up there and we're on our third set of hydraulic filters so let's get our special tool here for instilling our hydraulic fluid back into this gearbox so if you don't have one of these you ain't living right this is the mcnaught c16 suction gun this suction gun will go in to a pumpkin like on your rear end of your truck or whatever and draw the fluid out i've got one for clean fluid and one for dirty fluid this is the one for clean fluid and what we're gonna do is basically set this guy up here and we're gonna draw out our hydraulic…
