Drive the Large Deck Screw
At 0:05 in
Drill Test: DeWalt DCD999 Drill vs. 6" Deck Screw.
What happens here
Position the sharp tip of the 6 and 3/8 inch deck screw onto the desired spot on the wooden workpiece. With a firm, two-handed grip on the DeWalt FlexVolt drill, apply steady downward pressure and slowly depress the trigger to begin rotating the screw. Maintain a straight angle, ensuring the drill and screw are perpendicular to the wood surface. Gradually increase the drill speed as the screw starts to bite into the wood. Allow the drill's powerful motor to drive the screw fully into the wood until its head is flush with, or slightly countersunk below, the surface. The video clearly demonstrates the screw being driven quickly and efficiently, highlighting the high torque output of the drill.
Goal: Securely fasten the large deck screw into the wood.
