Assemble the Miter Fold Joint

What happens here

Apply a generous bead of wood glue, such as Titebond, into the entire length of the V-groove. Carefully fold the wood along the groove to bring the two edges together, forming a perfect miter joint. Once folded, apply a rapid-setting CA glue activator spray along the seam to instantly cure the glue, creating a strong and rigid corner for the mantel's top and front face. Hold firmly for a few seconds until the bond is secure.
