What happens here

This project demonstrates how to repair damaged extension cord ends, transforming unusable cords into fully functional ones using inexpensive replacement plugs. The process involves cutting off the old, damaged ends, stripping the cable's outer jacket and individual wires, creating wire loops, and securely attaching the wires to new male and female replacement plugs. This DIY fix saves money and extends the life of old extension cords.

Stop throwing away extension cords when your ends are all messed up. I have these two extension cords here that were plugged into each other at one point and then I had way too much stuff plugged in so it ended up burning the two together. But for the most part the cord is still good. So I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to cut these ends off, put these ones on that I picked up for $2 at Harbor Freight and uh we'll be back in business. Let's get after it. So here's your old one. Go ahead, snip that right off. We're going to go to about right there. Take your jacketing. Strip your jacketing off. Take your three wires. Clean it off there. Go ahead and twist these all up like so. Go ahead and pull your screws out of here and your screws out of here. Take your wires. Push them through like that. Put your jacketing through. Go ahead and just run this all the way down. Now on these ones right here, same concept, black to black, silver to white, green to ground. Go ahead and pull these screws out of here, loop them around and tighten them back down. Let's get after it. Now that you got your three wires, go ahead and grab your corresponding color. Put a pretty decent size loop in there, enough to wrap around your screw. Put your screw in there like so. So you'll have this. Go ahead and put your white on there like so. And repeat for the last two. All right. Now that we got our wires on, go ahead and slide this up. Go ahead and put your screws back in. Just like that we have a new plug on our extension cord. We saved ourselves probably 40 bucks by replacing two ends on both cords. $4, we saved ourselves 40. Follow for more.
