Prepare and Load Caulk

With the gaps prepped, the next step is to prepare the caulk for application. The video shows a tube of 'Sashco Big Stretch' caulk, which is often used for its flexibility and paintability, making it suitable for interior applications where movement might occur. First, use a utility knife to cut the tip of the caulk tube nozzle at a 45-degree angle. The size of the opening should match the width of the gap you intend to fill – a smaller opening for fine seams and a larger one for wider gaps. Next, use the rod on the caulk gun (or a long nail) to pierce the inner seal of the caulk tube. Finally, load the prepared caulk tube into a caulk gun, ensuring it's seated firmly and ready for controlled dispensing.

Goal: Prepare the caulk tube by cutting the nozzle at an angle and piercing the inner seal, then load it into a caulk gun.
