What happens here
This project details extreme durability testing on Milwaukee tools, including an M18 LED Compact Site Light and a Magnetic 25 ft Tape Measure. The tools are subjected to a series of harsh treatments like drops from various heights, being thrown, dragged by a truck, and hit with a baseball bat, to assess their resilience under conditions far exceeding normal job site use. The instructions outline how to perform these 'torture tests' to evaluate product robustness.

(12,449 characters)All right, guys. Welcome back to Dirt Monkey Demo-Lition. Hey, should we call this one two idiots on a playground? All right, let's uh let's actually drag it down the road. How fast are we going? ALL RIGHT, THAT'S GOOD. I think that's pretty good. I think that's what they wanted to call it. We got Elliot running camera. Elliot, do you have the speaker on? All right. Elliot, you going to speak this time? Oh, probably, yeah. Do you ever actually shut up? This is true. That's why they make earplugs. Well, I did a a demo earlier this year with some earplugs on it, huh? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I did the uh the 3M hearing protection. I wanted to go see how that turned out. I actually I heard they were in Lowe's and um I couldn't find them. I guess they were sold out. That's just how cool I am, right? I actually I can't take any of the credit for that. All right, so we are going to Here Here's the thing, guys. I contacted a bunch of different uh suppliers and things like that and I said, "Hey, we want to do this thing called Dirt Monkey Demo-Lition, where we test tools, but then we test how far we can take them." And I got mostly crickets back, but I did get a couple people to respond. And the first one to step up to plate is Milwaukee. And so, what they sent me was this Milwaukee light, which is pretty cool. All right, guys. I completely forgot to tell you that if you comment down below while we're making the video testing out these lights, Milwaukee's going to randomly pick I think three of you guys out and send you your own light. Just randomly. And yes, you guys can even comment "Stan, your mama is so fat." Like we did on the last one. I don't care. I like those jokes. Cuz what difference does it make? She's gone and she's up in heaven. She's probably laughing about it anyway. One of the things that it has is uh just a We're going to show you how this thing works. It's got the ability to control it from your phone. And you guys are going to be going, "Why would I want to control a light from my phone?" Well, let's just say that you're working on a house and you don't want to go into a dark house. So, you sit out in your truck and you take your little phone and you hit your flangies like this and boom, all of these lights go on and you can control how bright they are if my big fat thumb will work. Okay, is that going up and down? Maybe it isn't. Oh, that's my Oh, wait, there it is. Give it a moment. It takes time. There you go. All right, so it's actually pretty cool that you can do that. Now, this is what happens. When you're on a job site, stuff like that actually happens. So, the last thing I want to see you guys do is invest a couple hundred dollars in a tool and then have it not work. Now, I'm going to pull the battery out when I test it. If you guys don't like that fact, here's what I recommend. Go out and buy your own light, make your own video, leave the battery in and tell me how that works for you, okay? Elliot, let's grab the ladder. Let's do a higher drop test. On this, you're giving me the camera. Let's do it Let's do it right off the deck onto the ground. Okay. So, Should I look like I'm going to like try to hang it up on something and No. No, oh, that's another thing. Show them the hook. But don't fall. Show them the hook. So, that hook that's all You can actually hang it upside down. Now, I've used this thing and I I love this light. Literally love it. But go ahead. Oh, that didn't sound good. How high of a drop you think that is, Elliot? Oh, I don't know. Probably You were 6 ft You were 6 ft up on a ladder. 9 ft 9 10 ft. All right, pop the battery and let's see if that still works. Did it crack yet? Oh, I think so. Just a little marred. Not even marred. I hit the hit the on button. Oh oh oh, we got a crack. But, you know, cracks. It's all right. Crack in the casing. Do both sides work? All right. Looks like it works fine to me. Okay. Uh-oh. Who's showing up at my casa? Hey, let's let's throw the light at him. Yeah. Catch it and pretend like if he misses it if he misses it, he's he's got to buy it. Let's do it. Andy. Yes, sir. You want to see my new light? Here. Catch it. I failed that really badly. All right, let's see if it still works. There you go. Go slide the truck up. There we go. It still works. Let's Let's see if we can get him to do it again. Andy, catch. There you go, Stan. You're not very good at that. I got the battery right here. I I played hockey, so Oh, you've got an excuse then. Yep. Butterfingers. That was a pretty far throw. I think we're I think we're up to 20 some feet now. Works fine. All right, let's see if we got any cracks in the casing yet. There's nothing. All right, we got uh Oh oh oh, let's drop it from this really high up spot up here. Oh, sweet. I get to see you be up in a little play fort again. Again? Oh, yeah. You stalked my Instagram? I've got a video of you going down a little kid slide this summer. What? When was I going down a kid slide? Out at a Hilton. I don't remember that. That's okay. Like 20 people do. Hey, should we call this one two idiots on a playground? All right, you ready? I'm going to throw it hand down over there. I'm going to try to hit that carpet way over there. Pan over there. Show them. See that carpet? All right. Well, I mean, we've got a handle, but Yeah, that was just the handle. Peanut gallery. All right. Well, picking it up might be a little more challenging, but does it work? Woah. Holy crap. Okay. Is that just dirt? Yeah. That's just dirt. Okay, another thing about these is uh you can actually plug these in. You can actually do it as a chain. Yeah, so you can plug one in and then you can plug another one in. You got to move your truck. I say we hook this behind it. Put it right on the hitch. And we Just hook it on the on the ball there. Oh, here. Like this. Here, you give me the camera. All right. Well, what's that What's that going to do, Elliot? Well, I'll just stop. What? And then when you're in the process, you should move your truck so I can get out. That's the point. What do you want with that? I don't know. Not quite sure what this is going to prove. hanging thing it works. Look at that. Look at that. You can hang a light off your hitch, right? Yeah. I hope he doesn't run it over, cuz that's not going to prove anything. Fail. DID IT DO ANYTHING? FAIL. ALL RIGHT. ALL RIGHT. ALL RIGHT. NO GOOFING OFF. I got neighbors over there. Psycho. I wonder I wonder why though. I mean, you got a country boy living in the middle of the city. I don't blame him. You never love us, right? No. All right, let's let's actually drag it down the road. All right. Let's set it up after they leave. Let's set it up and drag it. We got that uh It comes with a cable. So, they got this cable so that when you're actually hanging it from something and you need it higher or lower. I guess you wouldn't need it higher if it's got a cable. So, It's okay. So, you can actually All right. Where are the two little munchkins going? Uh they're going to go pick up the Quattro plow. They get that set up for the Skid steer? Yeah. So, they're going to go pick up I don't want them to Wait a minute. That's the wrong truck. NICK, YOU DID SOMETHING DUMB AGAIN. What color is this truck? It's white. The the one the red one down at the yard, I couldn't I couldn't get the the the the lock was frozen. So, what happens tonight when we need to go plow with it? Well, I don't have any WD-40. Well, do you have WD-40 with you? Uh not in here. So, I stopped at my place. I don't get I only have so much time. So, I was like, "Well, Nicky's got to go." So, So, what when we're when it's midnight and it's like Take a hammer. 20° colder, I'd say we we want to get that opened up. Yeah, we can, but I Nicky only has so much time. Then have Andy do it. Okay. Andy, show him where the key is. Get him familiar with it. You got the gun? I got the key. No, I know. I'm going to either way we'll stop on our place and get some WD-40. Break it Yeah, well, don't break the padlock. But get it opened up, fire up the truck, make sure that it's running okay, cuz it's going to snow tonight, so we're going to need it. Okay. All right. And what happens if this falls off the back of your truck? It is what it is. And we're having some fun. So, um so far, honestly, can't believe that it's lasted this long. All right, I'm going to hang it and then I'm going to ride in the back. All right. Um All right. For some of you, this is honestly how I used to go down the roads all the time. So, let's see how this goes. I think I got the battery in my pocket. You got your window down? Okay, go ahead. GO AHEAD. OH, THERE GOES THE PIECE. HOW FAST ARE WE GOING? ALL RIGHT, THAT'S GOOD. I THINK that's pretty good. And it fell off. All right, we lost it. I think that was pretty much more than what it would experience if it was uh That's way more than just flopping off the back of a truck. All right, let's see how it if it actually still works. This poor light. All right. All right, I did see a piece come flying off. Yeah, that's carabiner snapped. Oh, here we go. All right. This uh uh here we go. Poor poor light. No way. All right, let's see if I can still control it remotely. Here, you um I think that'd be important again. All right, here we go. Here we go. Does the Bluetooth still work? Whoa. Is it? Yeah. Well, at least I thought it was. It's doing something. Yeah, it is. All right, off. Now, let's just see if we it'll Oh, there we go. Oh. What is it? The the one key is flashing. Wonder what that means. It probably means something. You broke it. Well, I'd say we've tested this enough. I don't know. What do you guys think? Do you uh Would you buy this? I mean, after you see this, we dropped it off the deck. We threw it off the playground. I chucked it a couple more times. We didn't drop anything on it, but I think we've tested it enough. Take my battery out. That's it for today's version of Dirt Monkey Demolition. What would you guys like to see next? What do you suggest we do? Oh. Sky's the limit, right? Sky's the limit. What tools should we put to the torture test next? God bless. Go get them. And hey, you guys would subscribe and then turn on the notifications button, because then Is it a bell? It's a little bell. I've I don't know, I've never actually seen it. Wow. I've never looked at it. So, turn on the bell, and then when I upload a video, What was that? When I upload distracted. Squirrel. When I upload a video, you guys will know. Squirrel. That's it. That is the Milwaukee What is this thing called again? Uh radius. That is the Milwaukee radius light. I'd say on a tough test, it held up pretty damn good. It did. So, I can't think of any job site where it's going to be dragged down the street. Fall off a truck, yes. Dragged down the street, no. No. Oh, hey, we're supposed to test this tape measure, too. They sent me that to test. I don't know what the hell we're going to do with a tape measure. Well, you know what the first thing I do with the tape measure when I get one? You know you're not just going to throw it, are you? Go ahead. Let's see if I can hit it. SHUT UP, ELLIOT. SEE, I GOT THE POWER to edit this out. You're so mean to things. I don't even see a mark. I don't either. Dude, I don't even see a flipping mark. What the helmet? Well, I'm Look, guys, I don't like busting tools. The fact of the matter is sure? You know, the point is is you guys are going to be hard on your tools. You're going to they're going to be they're going to drop. You're going to You're not going to do this crap to them, but if a tool can survive this, then it can hopefully survive your job site. Like if I did this to a regular tape measure, and it quit working, I wouldn't want you guys to spend five, 10, 15 dollars to test out your own tape measure and find it or to just buy a tape measure and have it drop off a ladder onto a concrete surface and have it be shot. It's a waste of money. But I'd rather spend a little bit of extra money and buy a tape measure that's going to actually hold up. This thing is unfazed. So, I don't know. You guys can I take it for what it is. I'm not going to do anything more to this, cuz I don't really feel like I'm just not going to do anything more to this. I think we've proved our point. This is about as tough of a tape measure as it comes. It's actually because he really likes it, and he just doesn't want to break it.
